My goal of homeschooling is to teach my kids how to teach themselves and becoming more independent learners as they grow.
This is what you need to help them -
1. Give them a schedule each day so they will know exactly what to do at every hour.
2. Give them permission to ask you questions when they really need to.
3. Sit in the same room with them when you first start out, later you can use your own discretion whether you need to be there.
The following skills are important to teach them, again the key is Patience -
1. Organization skills. Books and folders, papers done in time and are filed away neatly.
2. Follow the Time Schedule. (Important: Give time to implement the schedule, it could be the most challenge thing to do in homeschooling)
3. Pay attention to details.
4. Clean up after themselves after school is over(Trash are picked up, books put away, home works are filed away, chairs, nothing should be on the desk or on the floor)
5. Aim to finish school ON TIME. Don't try to do too much in a day.
